Grand Opening

Come and join us for our inaugural event! The Healing Collective Grand Opening will take place from 11:00am-5:00pm on September 22nd, with lots of amazing offerings from the HC practitioners, including a therapist meet and greet, Dance Movement Therapy demo group, yoga and self-regulation sessions, self-care and work/life balance workshops, mini Reiki treatments and Tarot readings, mindfulness sessions, communication strategies for couples, tasty snacks, and much more! The best part is – it’s all free!

11:00am - Dance Movement Therapy Demo Group with Jessica
This experiential demonstration offers a glimpse into what a Dance Movement Therapy session might look like. We will try out some fun, creative and expressive ways of moving, and experiment with how we can speak with our bodies, maybe even having a whole conversation without words. Come ready to move and express. All bodies are welcome!

11:35 - Drumming & Land Acknowledgement with Emily
The Healing Collective acknowledges that it exists on the traditional and enduring territory of Indigenous peoples. Emily Blackmoon (Algonquin-Anishnaabe) will lead us in an acknowledge of the land, and will provide traditional hand drumming songs to honour the strength and healing of Indigenous peoples on Turtle Island.

12:00pm - Self Care, More Than Just a Bubble Bath with Lisa
Self care often gets reduced down into “just take a bubble bath”. Let’s go beyond that! In this workshop we will explore different kinds of self care, the benefits of self care and what stops us from taking care of ourselves. We will look at self care for the whole person, mind body and spirit.

With the increasing demands of the workplace and the increase in technology (cell phones, email) people need to be ‘on’ for longer for work which has resulted in a marked increase in workplace stress/ anxiety and burnout and a decrease in work life balance. What is work/life balance? Why/how do we go off balance? How to recognize you are off balance. How to get back in balance – make yourself your own priority and self-care tips.
