SUMMARY:A Day of Mindful Eating and Nutrition
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Healing Collective on April 27th from 9:30am - 4pm for a Day of Mindful Eating and Nutrition with Dr. Sylvi Martin\, Naturopathic Doctor. \nIN THIS FULL-DAY GROUP PROGRAM\, YOU WILL: \n\nLearn foundations of healthy\, balanced nutrition\nExplore your level of hunger\, fullness & satisfaction\, along with body sensations and emotional factors that impact your eating habits\nPractice using mindful eating techniques to transform your relationship with food\n\nThis full-day program was developed by Dr. Sylvi Martin\, naturopathic doctor\, as a fusion of evidence-based nutrition with the mental-emotional aspect of mindful eating where you will learn how to nourish your body\, and your senses.  You’ll explore and practice using techniques to improve your awareness of body sensations and emotional factors that impact your eating habits\, and learn strategies that you can use at home to improve your relationship with food.  The ultimate goal of the program is to help you learn to make healthier and more conscious food choices while eating flexibly and mindfully in a sustainable way. \nThis program blends together Dr. Martin’s education in naturopathic medicine and clinical nutrition\, her background in mental health and mindfulness skills\, and her training in Mindfulness Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT – a program developed by Dr. Jean Kristeller\, PhD). Several clinical trials involving variations of MB-EAT have noted improvement in how people relate to their eating.
